Video gaming as part of your teen's cyber diet

Is video gaming just a geek thing? Should teens be doing something more productive or essentially something more creative? A diet only of video games is definitely geeky and in extreme cases can lead to fantasy addiction.

However games as part of the learning process offer the challenge of pushing the boundaries, story telling, character development and scenery exploration. Playing games, like taking vitamins,  is an essential ingredient of the creative genius or problem solving.  Now there are games that are harmful, so discretion has to be applied and I mean by the teen rather than the parent.

However with guidance and plenty of discussion at the dinner table, our teens can be guided towards making discerning choices about the games they play or want to play.
